Belgian healthcare software leader joins Banyan Software to strengthen its core platform and expand further internationally
Banyan Software, a long-term investor and operator of growing software businesses, is excited to announce the acquisition of Besco, the leading provider of healthcare nomenclature in Belgium.
Founded in 2002 by Jos Bessemans, Besco is a mission-critical provider of nomenclature data for the Belgian healthcare industry. Every medical act, device, and medicine in Belgium must carry the correct code to be billed, reimbursed, and audited, and Besco’s Portal is the complete, audit-proof record of that nomenclature, relied on by hospitals, insurers, and pharmacies across the country. Its product suite also includes SteMaTo, which gives hospital sterilization departments full traceability of surgical instruments, from cleaning through use on a specific patient, and is trusted by hospitals globally, including aboard the hospital ships of Mercy Ships; and eCoMET which extends that traceability to implants and medical devices.
