Supporting global initiatives
for equity and sustainability

TransitionZero

Driving environmental sustainability through technology

TransitionZero builds tools to support energy transition decision-making with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. They develop energy system models that provide governments with the data and analysis needed to plan for future energy needs, attract foreign capital, and finance renewable energy projects.

Banyan Software Foundation’s multi-year $1M grant will support one of TransitionZero’s notable projects, the Solar Asset Mapper which uses machine learning to map solar assets worldwide, aiding in the development of accurate energy models. This tool is critical for grid operators to manage the increasing share of solar energy, which is becoming a dominant energy source.

They provide learners with a combination of certified online courses and personalized coaching and support, resulting in an average increase in alumni wages from $26K to $50K within three months of graduation.

Banyan Software Foundation’s multi-year $1M grant will support 250 learners enrolling in the Zero Percent Loan program, focusing on fields such as IT Support, Data Analytics, UX Design, Cybersecurity, and Project Management.
