Banyan Software Continues EdTech Growth With the Acquisition of DualEnroll

Banyan Software, a leading acquirer and permanent home for great software businesses, is excited to announce the acquisition of EdTech company DualEnroll, which streamlines, automates, and administers every facet of dual and concurrent enrollment management for over 100 colleges, districts and systems across the USA.

Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college courses that are officially credited towards a recognized postsecondary degree. These programs are often difficult for colleges to administer as traditional college systems assume that students have completed high school before starting college. Dual enrollment is associated with a wide range of benefits: higher college enrollment persistence and completion, higher GPA’s, and reduction in college affordability gaps. Dual enrollment students represent 50% or more of total enrollment at many colleges.

Janet Van Pelt, who has more than 20 years of experience in conceiving and delivering innovative solutions within higher education, recognized that existing systems did not support the many unique requirements for enrolling students while still in high school and founded DualEnroll in 2012 to fill this gap.

Having spent 12 years establishing and growing the DualEnroll business, Ms. Van Pelt was ready to step back from an operational role. Scott Holmes, previously with Banyan businesses’ School Pathways and Aequitas, has been appointed as CEO of DualEnroll to help guide the business through its next phase of growth.

Banyan Software sees vast opportunities for technology to improve educational outcomes across K-16 and is committed to expanding our roster of EdTech businesses. DualEnroll allows colleges to significantly boost concurrent enrollment rates, particularly benefiting disadvantaged student populations, while also reducing administrative overhead. We are excited to welcome the DualEnroll team to our EdTech family and proud to support them as they continue helping colleges grow enrollment and improve student outcomes.
