Automated Systems, Inc. (ASI) Acquires American Bank Systems (ABS) with Support from Banyan Software
Automated Systems, Inc. (ASI), a provider of core banking solutions for community banks, announced its acquisition of American Bank Systems (ABS), a trusted name in compliance-focused software solutions for U.S. community banks. The transaction was supported by Banyan Software, a leading acquirer and permanent home for great software businesses.
Founded in 1969, ABS began by providing standardized loan forms tailored to the unique needs of community banks in Oklahoma. ABS’s flagship solutions, CoPilot and BankManager, are used to automate loan origination and document management processes, ensuring compliance with complex state and federal banking regulations.
As part of the acquisition, ABS will be integrated into ASI’s operations to deliver a unified, best-of-suite experience for customers and will be part of Banyan Software’s growing Financial Institutions Group (FIG). Banyan Software’s operational expertise will play a key role in integrating ABS into ASI’s infrastructure while unlocking new opportunities.
“We are thrilled to welcome ABS to the ASI family,” said Paul Loftus, CEO of ASI and leader of FIG. “ABS has an excellent reputation for serving community banks with integrity. The addition of CoPilot and BankManager to the ASI product suite strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive, compliance-driven solutions to our customers while also eliminating the potential customer risk and disruption that occurs when companies like ABS are acquired by a large banking software conglomerate.”
“This partnership underscores our commitment to build out an ecosystem of high-quality software solutions that address the unique challenges of the under-served community banking sector. By combining ASI’s core banking capabilities with ABS’s proven loan origination and compliance tools, we’re already taking a meaningful step in the creation of that ecosystem.”
“It has been an honor to lead ABS and continue the legacy built over the past five decades by Morrison Tucker, founder of ABS, and by his successor (and my father), Jim Bruce. I believe that joining ASI is a great opportunity to expand our impact and continue delivering the high-quality solutions counted on by our customers. From the first meeting where we discussed this partnership and our shared values, I became enthusiastic about the value this joint solution will bring to community banks across the country and to the ABS enterprise and its employees.”
